Discover Vino 2024

17.05.2024

And more from the boundless world of Italian wine – this time from its most distinctive side, through a curated selection by Rali.Wine.

Dedicated to the mission of introducing the highest-quality Italian wines to the local market, Rali.Wine focuses on wines with strong individuality – crafted from indigenous and lesser-known grape varieties, grown in volcanic and extreme terroirs. Behind the project is Ralitsa Georgieva, an expert with extensive experience in Italian wine, constantly searching for new, unique, and remarkable discoveries.

At Discover.Vino, Rali.Wine presents a mosaic of five fascinating, world-renowned wineries:

Santa Sofia is located in the heart of the historic Valpolicella Classica zone – Pedemonte. The winery overlooks the rolling vineyard-covered hills of Valpolicella, near Lake Garda. It is housed in a villa designed by Andrea Palladio in 1565, now protected by UNESCO as one of the most valuable historic villas in Veneto. Today, the estate’s philosophy is “From ancient varieties to modern winemaking.” Producing wine since 1811, Santa Sofia represents over two centuries of excellence, crafting authentic terroir-driven wines of the highest quality, deeply rooted in local tradition.

The Spagnol family has been making wine since 1900, owning vineyards on the stunning hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene – a UNESCO-protected area and a cultural and ecological landmark of Italy. Their wines are produced and bottled in Colbertaldo di Vidor, embodying elegance and authenticity while challenging the stereotype of Prosecco as a simple, commercial wine. You will taste wines from the Col del Sas vineyards – the symbolic heart of the family estate and the origin of their first label.

Fina Vini, founded in Sicily by Bruno Fina, gained prominence through his collaboration with the legendary Giacomo Tachis – creator of some of Italy’s most prestigious wines. Together, they revolutionized Sicilian winemaking by introducing international grape varieties alongside native ones, producing more refined and elegant wines with a strong terroir expression. “Character” defines the winery’s philosophy – creating wines with a distinct identity. The estate is organically certified, and its wines have received numerous international awards.

The globally recognized Loacker family, winemakers since 1979, have invested in three estates across two unique regions – Alto Adige and Tuscany (Montalcino and Maremma). From the very beginning, they have embraced a forward-thinking approach, producing biodynamic wines that fully express their terroir. Their wines are distinctive and authentic, crafted through natural methods – indigenous varieties and spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts. The winery presented by Rali.Wine at Discover.Vino is Valdifalco, located in Maremma, Tuscany. Producing around 110,000 bottles annually, part of its vineyards lie within the Maremma Natural Reserve – an area of remarkable identity near the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Tenuta Cavalier Pepe, located in Campania, lies in the heart of Irpinia – an ancient winemaking region dating back to Roman times. This land of volcanic soils is home to the “Barolo of the South” – Taurasi DOCG, as well as renowned indigenous varieties such as Greco di Tufo, Fiano di Avellino, Falanghina, and Aglianico. The winery ranks among the Top 100 wineries in the world for 2023.
