Angelo Negro e Figli is a historic family-owned winery based in Monteu Roero, with documented roots dating back to 1670. Historically known simply as Negro, the estate gained international recognition in 1971 when Giovanni Negro produced the first dry Roero Arneis, helping to revive the variety and redefine the region. Today, the winery operates under the official name Angelo Negro e Figli (“Angelo Negro and Sons”), reflecting generational continuity and the family’s active involvement.
The estate farms approximately 70 hectares of vineyards across the Roero and Langhe areas, including historic plots characterized by sandy soils and old vines that contribute finesse, aromatic clarity, and strong terroir identity. The focus is on native grape varieties such as Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto, and Favorita, expressed with precision and authenticity.
Angelo Negro e Figli combines traditional winemaking with modern precision and sustainable practices aimed at preserving biodiversity and the UNESCO-listed landscape. The wines are structured, elegant, and timeless — a classic expression of Roero and Piedmont, rooted in history and crafted for longevity.
